The New Jersey Department of Health is a nationally accredited state public health agency focused on improving population health by strengthening
New Jersey’s health system. The Department oversees health care facilities, public health services, the state’s psychiatric hospitals, the medicinal marijuana program, EMS and the Office of Disaster Resilience.
Each of the Department’s five branches which include Public Health Services, Health Systems, Integrated Health, Office of Population Health and
the Office of Policy and Strategic Planning work collaboratively toward the goal of keeping healthy New Jerseyans well, preventing those at risk
from getting sick, and keeping those with chronic conditions. The Department received its public health accreditation in June 2017.
